Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work with leaders who recognize the value of project management to research projects, and who embrace the principles of organization, communication, and good relationships. As a part of that work, I initially developed and delivered introductory project management training to graduate students and other trainees. Workshop and presentation offerings expanded to include budget and financial management, team development, and leadership and communication, and demand spread throughout the BC Lower Mainland and Canada
In 2011, I started Lyric Management to enable delivery of training and workshops to the broader community and to further develop topics and materials of interest to participants. To date, over 4,000 participants have completed training workshops with me in BC and across Canada. Interest in and demand for training in project management and leadership remains high, as personnel throughout the research community recognize the importance of sound management to project success and as research administration and management grows as a professional career path.
From 2012-2022, Lyric Management managed the Annual TFRI BC Node Research Day - a multidisciplinary symposium for knowledge exchange and celebrations of success in translational cancer research. In recent years, the Research Day was delivered with an expanded program as part of the BC Cancer Summit.
In 2015, coaching and mentoring services were added. Whether you're a new graduate or an experienced scientific professional, working with me to explore and enhance your goals, skills, and strengths can enhance the success of your career planning, advancement, or transitions. I specialize in helping people move into the growing and rewarding field of research management and leadership.
And in 2022, I turned my attention full-time to Lyric Management and added proposal development and project management services. In this work, I bring my full career of experience to help researchers and teams create compelling and successful funding proposal and establish sound project management approaches that contributed to development and success of individuals and teams.
